English-language developer complaints from X & Reddit (late Sep – mid Oct 2026). PoYo answers below are taken only from public product pages and docs — with internal links.
Q1. Why is the official API so much more expensive than a subscription?
What people are saying: Teams say Claude/Opus API pricing burns budget fast, so they stack Max subscriptions or avoid expensive providers.
What PoYo actually offers: PoYo uses credit-based pricing with no subscriptions — one-time credit purchases, credits never expire, and you pay per successful output at each model's listed price. Compare live prices on each model page / that model's llms.txt, or browse the model gallery. Chat models on PoYo also publish rates that are often below official list (see each model's schema). Start in the free Playground on model pages before you spend.

Q2. We keep hitting 429s even after we pay. What's going on?
What people are saying: Parallel agents hit walls of 429s; paid aggregator credits don't raise upstream quotas; some vendors hard-cap monthly spend.
What PoYo actually offers: PoYo documents 429 = rate limit (rate_limit_error) separately from 402 = insufficient credits. Docs recommend waiting/queuing on 429 and monitoring balance to avoid 402. On the API key dashboard, keys support rate limits per key (hourly, daily, total caps) and an IP allowlist. Check balance via the user balance API.

Q3. Our product dies when one vendor (OpenAI / Claude / Gemini) has an outage. How do we reduce that?
What people are saying: Codex/Gemini regional incidents and long open outages push teams to multi-tool setups.
What PoYo actually offers: PoYo is a unified API across image, video, music, 3D, and chat models from multiple providers behind one API key and one async submit/status (or webhook) workflow — so you can switch models without re-integrating each vendor's stack. Catalog and schemas: poyo.ai/llms.txt. Architecture: API overview. PoYo also states 24/7 monitoring & technical support for integration, failed tasks, callbacks, and billing (homepage).
Note: we do not claim automatic transparent failover between upstreams unless/until product docs say so.
Q4. We paid an aggregator and got no credits / got "restricted." Why trust PoYo?
What people are saying: Reddit threads describe missing credits, silent support, and accounts restricted after tiny spend.
What PoYo actually offers (documented): Credits power generation; you can query balance in real time. Failed tasks are not charged (homepage · llms.txt). Support contact listed on the site FAQ: [email protected]. For trust diligence, use dashboard usage visibility and key controls (API keys).
PoYo's public pages do not currently spell out a dedicated refund or restriction policy; contact [email protected] for account-specific questions.
Q5. Card declined / payment rails breaking mid-demo — any practical setup?
What people are saying: Billing cards fail; payment outages kill demos.
What PoYo actually offers: Top up credits ahead of demos; verify balance with the balance API before a live run; set key usage caps so a bad loop can't drain the account (Getting Started). Pricing is credit packs / enterprise plans per homepage FAQ.
Q6. Empty wallet and rate limits both return 429 — our fallback is broken.
What people are saying: Some providers still return 429 for spend caps, so SDKs retry forever.
What PoYo actually documents:
| Code | Meaning on PoYo |
|---|---|
| 402 | Insufficient credits (insufficient_credits_error) — do not treat as transient rate limit |
| 429 | Rate limit exceeded (rate_limit_error) — back off / queue |
| 502 | Upstream service error |
| 503 | Service busy |
Full table: Error codes. Best practice from the same page: monitor credits to avoid 402 during critical ops; retry 500/502/503 with backoff.
Q7. OpenAI retired its video API with no migration path. Where do we go?
What people are saying: Video API sunset + retry costs on failed generations.
What PoYo actually offers: A live AI Video API collection including Sora 2 (sora-2-official, sora-2-pro-official), Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance, Wan, Hailuo/MiniMax, and more — one async submit → poll/webhook flow (API overview). Failed tasks are not charged. Per-model prices are on each model page (example: Wan 2.7 Video).
Q8. Unauthorized AI charges after a tooling breach — how do we harden keys?
What people are saying: Leaked keys in agent tools caused surprise bills.
What PoYo actually documents: Create keys in the dashboard; never expose keys in frontend or public repos; use per-key rate limits and IP whitelist (Getting Started). Auth is Bearer token only (Authentication docs via docs index). Rotate any key that touched a compromised tool.
