VIDU Q4

Start frames, reference images and voice clips into cinematic video with sound

Vidu Q4 API for Image-to-Video and Reference-to-Video

Vidu Q4 from Shengshu Technology turns your images, characters and voice references into cinematic clips with native audio, multi-shot storytelling and dynamic action. On PoYo, you can start from a single first frame or build a scene from up to 12 reference images, then pay per second of output.

Vidu Q4 Generation Modes on PoYo

01

Vidu Q4 Image to Video

Send exactly one image in image_urls and Vidu Q4 animates it as the first frame. The prompt is optional and can describe motion, camera movement and sound. In this mode, the output follows the image's aspect ratio, so aspect_ratio and generate_audio are not accepted.

02

Vidu Q4 Reference to Video

Send 1–12 images in reference_image_urls and up to 3 voice clips in reference_audio_urls, then describe the scene in the required prompt. Refer to each input as [@reference_image_1] or [@reference_audio_1], choose the aspect ratio and turn native audio generation on or off.

Key Features of Vidu Q4 API

Official Vidu Q4 samples show cinematic detail, consistent characters and large-scale action with synchronized sound.

01

Cinematic Shots with Native Audio

Vidu Q4 generates picture and sound together, including dialogue, music, ambience and sound effects matched to on-screen action. Close-ups keep fine textures such as skin, hair, fabric and instrument strings, so a single request can produce a clip that already feels finished.

  • Dialogue, music and sound effects generated with the video
  • Lip movements and actions synchronized with audio
  • Output up to 4K for detailed close-ups

02

Consistent Characters from Reference Images

Upload character, outfit, prop or location images and reference them directly in your prompt. Vidu Q4 keeps faces, costumes and visual style stable across camera angles and shots, which makes it practical for recurring characters in series, ads and branded content.

  • Up to 12 reference images per request on PoYo
  • Address each image as [@reference_image_N] in the prompt
  • Up to 3 voice clips to guide character voices

03

Dynamic Action and Multi-Shot Storytelling

Vidu Q4 is built for fast motion, martial arts, crowds and visual effects without losing physical coherence. Describe several beats in one prompt and the model can arrange them as a multi-shot sequence of up to 16 seconds, with camera changes that follow the story.

  • Durations from 3 to 16 seconds
  • Large-scale action, fights and VFX-heavy scenes
  • Multiple shots and camera changes in a single clip

Who Can Benefit from Vidu Q4 API?

01

AI Series and Short Drama Studios

Keep the same cast across episodes by reusing character and location references. Combine reference images with voice clips to produce dialogue scenes, then assemble 16-second multi-shot clips into longer stories.

02

Advertising and Brand Teams

Turn product photos, packaging and brand characters into cinematic spots with music and sound effects. Choose 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4 or 1:1 in reference mode to match each placement.

03

Social Media Creators

Animate a single key image into a short clip with sound, or place your recurring persona into new scenes. Lower resolutions keep drafts affordable before you render the final version in 1080p, 2K or 4K.

04

Film Previsualization

Prototype action sequences, camera moves and VFX moments from concept art. Use the start-frame mode to test how a specific frame evolves, or reference mode to block out whole scenes.

05

Game and Animation Teams

Bring character sheets and environment concepts to life for trailers, cutscene drafts and pitch videos while keeping designs consistent across shots.

06

Developers and Video Platforms

Add Vidu Q4 to your product through PoYo's asynchronous API. Submit a task, poll its status or receive a callback, and charge your users per second of output.

Vidu Q4 vs Vidu Q3

Vidu Q4 raises the resolution ceiling to 4K and accepts more reference images than Vidu Q3, while keeping native audio and multi-shot generation. Clips still run up to 16 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions about Vidu Q4 API

What is Vidu Q4 API?

Vidu Q4 is a video generation model from Shengshu Technology that creates cinematic clips with native audio, consistent characters and dynamic action. Through PoYo, you can call it with the model ID vidu-q4 to generate 3–16 second videos from a start image or from up to 12 reference images, at resolutions from 540p to 4K.

Does Vidu Q4 support text-to-video on PoYo?

No. Every Vidu Q4 request on PoYo needs at least one image: either one start frame in image_urls or one to twelve images in reference_image_urls. If you need text-only generation, choose another video model on PoYo.

How is Vidu Q4 priced?

Vidu Q4 is billed per second of video based on resolution: 540p is 9 credits ($0.045), 720p is 19 credits ($0.095), 1080p is 24 credits ($0.12), 2K is 38 credits ($0.19) and 4K is 78 credits ($0.39) per second. For example, a 5-second 720p video costs 95 credits. Reference images, voice clips and audio generation do not add extra charges.

How do I reference images and voices in the prompt?

In reference mode, refer to inputs by their position, such as [@reference_image_1] for the first image and [@reference_audio_1] for the first voice clip. For example: "[@reference_image_1] walks along the beach of [@reference_image_2] and speaks with the voice of [@reference_audio_1]."

What are the requirements for voice references?

You can add up to three audio URLs in reference_audio_urls. The Playground accepts MP3 clips of 3–12 seconds, which matches Vidu's guidance for voice references. Voice references are only available in reference mode and cannot be combined with image_urls.

Can I choose the aspect ratio?

In reference mode you can choose 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4 or 1:1. In image-to-video mode, the video follows the start frame, so the aspect_ratio parameter is not accepted. Crop your image to the desired ratio before submitting.

How long does generation take?

Generation is asynchronous, and processing time depends on duration, resolution and service load. Save the task ID returned by the submit endpoint and poll the status endpoint until the task finishes or fails, or provide a callback URL.

Can I use Vidu Q4 videos commercially?

Review the applicable model and platform terms before commercial use, and make sure you have the rights to the images, likenesses and voices you upload. Check generated speech, faces and brand details before publishing.
